NEWAYGO SCHOOL TAXES MOVE TO SUMMER TAX BILL
The Newaygo Public School District has passed a resolution to impose a summer property tax levy. This means that beginning with the 2009 tax season, the Newaygo school taxes will no longer be collected on the winter tax bill. Rather, they will be collected on the summer tax bill. As a result, you will notice an increase in your summer tax bill and a decrease in your winter tax bill beginning in 2009. This only applies to Big Prairie Township residents living within the Newaygo Public School District. This shift does not affect principle residence exemptions in any way.
